Medical Support Program for Foreign Workers, etc.

This program aims to provide financial assistance for medical expenses
for ethnic minorities who are not eligible for medical benefits
so that they can lead healthy lives.
Who is eligible for the program?
  • Eligible candidates
    • Foreign workers and their children, marriage migrants who have not yet acquired Korean citizenship and their children and refugees and their children
  • Selection criteria
    • Financial support given to those who are unable to receive medical benefits offered by health care programs such as medical insurance or reimbursement programs
What kind of benefits can I receive?
  • Scope of program
    • Financial assistance up to KRW 5 million per visit to the hospital, covering all expenses from the time of hospitalization to discharge
      ※ However, all additional fees incurred for the use of premium rooms and all other optional fees must be paid by the patients. Some healthcare services are not covered by the program, such as treatments subject to selective reimbursement, palliative care and comprehensive nursing care.
How do I apply for the program?
  • How to apply
    • You can apply at a designated medical center in one of 16 cities/provinces (excluding Sejong City). The medical services covered by this program are provided only by designated hospitals.
  • Selection process
    • The selection process is as follows:
